In 2004, Jonathan founded a tiny, one-person shop in a Brooklyn attic and called it (so creatively) Jonathan Bourland Design. Since then, the web and the technologies that run on it have gotten bigger — and so have we, now Major Robot, a full-service agency. The success of Major Robot is due largely to Jonathan’s client-focused perspective. He knows that few technological puzzles have the same solution, and coaxing new, exciting codebases into harmony is a welcome challenge. Jonathan has years of experience creating a wide variety of data-driven, interactive experiences that for myriad clients and contexts.
During the spring of 2014, Jen joined Major Robot as Project Manager. Jen comes from a background in a physically creative environment that also focused heavily on customer experience and clienteling. Since starting, she has been a good translator for when Jonathan and Eric speak in code, literally. When she's not motivating the troops, she enjoys going to the dog park (with her dog), shibori dyeing, making condiments, a good bourbon, and any excuse to use a power tool.
